Perth’s Premier Force Plate Assessment Kit
How strong are you really?
What is the performance like on your injured or niggly side versus your healthy side? How do you compare to others?
If you want to get the best results from your strength and rehab you need to stop guessing and start measuring. Normally reserved for elite athletes we have VALD dual force plates available for our patients via our comprehensive VALD Force Plate Assessment.
Our staff have done the research and carefully selected performance tests that can be used to compare side to side differences as well as performance measures relative to specific patient populations. This information guides your rehabilitation or performance goals and return to sport timeframes.

What to expect? How does it work?
Book in for a VALD Force Plate Assessment session with one of our Forceplate experts. You will be sent an information form to fill out prior to your consult detailing your injury history and goals then arrive for your session ready for a workout.
We’ll run through some information then complete a standardised warm up. We’ll then get you jumping on the Force Plates via 3 different tests both double and single leg. Your expert will then summarise the information via a detailed report which will detail asymmetries, performance metrics and comparisons to target populations.
This information then guides your focus areas for your rehabilitation and training to ensure you are hitting every detail. This feedback can be touched on in the consult but it’s best to book a follow up to go through any specific interventions via technique or exercises in a separate consult.
Depending on your results it may be worth repeating the testing battery in 6-8 weeks to review scores and ensure you’re on track. For example in an ACL reconstruction we recommend testing at 4, 6, 8 and 10 month intervals.
When should I book a Force Plate assessment in?
This assessment tool can be used anytime throughout any lower limb rehabilitation or as a performance benchmarking tool if healthy.
That means if you’re:
- Recovering from any lower limb or spinal injury (ankle, knee, calf, hamstring, hip, groin, quad, lower back) and are able to jump without pain
- Recovery following ACL reconstruction
- Wondering if you’re ready to return to sport
- Curious if one leg is stronger than the other
- Looking to prevent any future lower limb injuries
- Want to compare yourself to other athletes or populations
This assessment is for you!
What will I be given post assessment?
You will be given a comprehensive report that outlines your performance. This will include comparisons side to side, to other populations specific to you and to previous testing sessions. This report can be taken to coaches, doctors, trainers and others to help guide your progress to training and readiness to return to sport.
I’m not an athlete is this assessment for me?
Yes! You do not need to be an athlete to complete this test. The beauty of this assessment is that the results are applicable to any form of lower limb soreness related to activities of daily living like walking, working or prolonged standing. If you’re looking to improve your pain or comfort day to day this test can show side to side differences that may highlight focus areas to target.
